WSU Student Looking for a Practicum Opportunity January-April 2017

Jason Bowman attends Wright State University and is completing a degree in clinical mental health counseling, seeking an LPC license.  As part of the coursework Jason will need to complete a 100 hour practicum beginning in January until April 2017.  In order to meet his hour requirements Jason anticipates completing seven hours a week.  Objectives for the practicum include a minimum of 40 hours of direct client contact, at least an hour of supervision each week, and a weekly audio or video tape for Wright State University training purposes.  If the audio or video tape option is not possible, another method of feedback could be developed for training purposes.

Also, the program requires a 600 hour externship, requiring a minimum length of two semesters.  During the externship , each semester requires a minimum of 14 hours at the site (17 hours if during the summer semester).  Objectives for the externship include a minimum of 80 hours of direct client contact, at least an hour of supervision each week, and a weekly audio or video tape for training purposes (or another method if necessary).  A supervisor with an LPCC and supervisory status with at least two years’ experience is needed for the practicum and externship.

If you or someone in your organization would like to engage Jason please contact him at 248.5974 or Bowman.70@wright.edu.
